What is History of Brazilian Zouk in Brazilian Zouk?

Brazilian Zouk evolved in Brazil during the late 1980s and 1990s from Lambada roots and the adaptation to slower music, including Caribbean Zouk.

Dancers and pioneers adapted Lambada movements to slower and differently structured music, forming the basis of what is now Brazilian Zouk. Caribbean music was important in that history and helps explain the name, but the modern Brazilian Zouk floor often uses a much broader repertoire, including global contemporary songs, R&B, pop, electronic music, remixes, and productions made for the dance.
